Originally the Wool Scourers and Carbonisers of Australia Group (WS&CA Group) and the Wool Textile Manufacturers of Australia Group (WTMA Group) were separate associations, each  a Member/Guarantor of AWTA Ltd, and each appointing a director to the Company's Board.

These organisations merged to form the Australian Wool Processors Council Inc. (AWPC) to represent the interests of wool processors such as Wool Scourers and Carbonisers, and Wool Textile Manufacturers.  Membership is open to individual companies, which are involved in these industry sectors, subject to payment of a membership fee.

AWTA Ltd amended its articles to appoint the AWPC as a Member/Guarantor.

AWPC appoints 2 directors to the AWTA Ltd Board, one from each group.
