APPLICATION

:

The method is applicable to woven fabrics of all types.

PRINCIPLE

:

The number of ends and picks in accurately measured lengths of woven fabric are counted along a line at right angles to the yarn being counted.

SAMPLES REQUIRED FOR TESTING

:

A minimum area of 0.5m² of fabric.

INTERPRETATION

:

Compare with the nominal values of ends and picks per unit length. A commercially acceptable tolerance of ± 3% is often applied.
