AWTA Product Testing is the largest independent supplier of testing services to the textile industries, providing a comprehensive range of textile, fire and materials testing services on a wide variety of woollen and non-woollen products from across Australia such as:
- Semi-processed wool and yarn
- Carpets, curtains seat covers, garments and other interior textile fabrics
- Industrial textiles such as awnings, tarpaulins and geotextiles
- Automotive components mainly for the inside of the passenger compartment

AWTA Ltd Product Testing can undertake research and development projects for clients using the Division's own facilities and those of the R&D Division in Sydney. AWTA Ltd is registered as a Registerd Research Agency, which allows clients to gain tax advantages by using the Company to conduct research on their behalf and also, if appropriate, to make applications for grants under the Strategic Investment Program for the Textile Clothing Footwear and Leather Industries.
This wide range of specialist technical services is provided by the Division's team of Textile Technologists, experienced in diverse aspects of the industry. Such in-depth knowledge is sought by clients to assist them in solving technical problems in their businesses on a daily basis. In addition, the technical knowledge of the Division's staff is put to good use in the development of the testing standards used in the textile and building industries in Australia. The Division is a major contributor to the development of testing standards through Standards Australia and several other industry technical committees.
