Mulesing Status on AWTA Ltd Certificates
In May 2008 AWEX sent all member an update relating to the new National Wool Declaration (NWD) layout. It also specified the definition, and specific abbreviations to be used for the various Mulesing Status categories. These abbreviations were displayed in sale catalogues from 21st July 2008.
The abbreviations are:

Farm lot has been sourced from a mob(s) that has not been mulesed. |

PR |
Pain Relief |
Farm lot has been sourced from a mob(s) where mulesing was performed using a registered pain relieving product. |
|
CM |
Ceased Mulesing |
Farm lot has been sourced from a mob(s) where the property has ceased mulesing.
The mob may contain mulesed sheep, but no sheep born on this property in the last 12 months were mulesed at the time of shearing and there is no intention to mules in the future. |

Not Declared |
Mulesing status has not been declared. |
