Changes to EU Eco-Labelling Criteria for Greasy Wool

In July 2009, the European Union Commission changed the Eco-Label criteria for pesticide residues in greasy wool.  Specifically the chemical Dicyclanil will now be included in the total concentration of Insect Growth Regulators (IGRs), which must remain <2mg/Kg for Eco-Label shipments to be accepted into the EU.

Commercial products that use this chemical as registered by the APVMA are:

  • Dicyclanil only:                         Click Spray-On Blowfly Treatment
  • Dicyclanil + Diflubenzuron:        Magik Spray-On Sheep Blowfly & Lice
                                                   Treatment

These changes became effective on 1st January 2010 and AWTA has updated the Pesticide Residue service accordingly.
