Fees For Services
AWTA Ltd publishes testing fees for the next financial year as soon as possible after they are approved by the Board. A budget and an accompanying set of fees are provided to the Board usually at the last Board meeting of the financial year.
Separate fees lists are provided for Raw Wool Testing Fees and for Product Testing.
Fees are usually set to ensure that the Company will have sufficient capital to maintain the investment levels in new plant and equipment necessary to minimise costs, while at the same time maintaining the levels of service and accuracy that the wool industry requires.
However, some years ago the Directors adopted a strategy to use surplus funds accumulated during the 1988-91 years of peak wool production to contain costs to customers by budgeting for controllable losses. This strategy while still in effect has since been modified to recognise that some fee increases are inevitable, particularly as workload declines with a declining wool clip.
