What is Australian Wool Services?

On 1 January 2001, AWRAP was converted into a Corporations Law company limited by shares, called Australian Wool Services Limited (AWS).

AWS is the holding company of Australian Wool Innovation Pty Limited (AWI) and TWC Holdings Pty Limited (TWCH) which in turn wholly owns The Woolmark Company Pty Ltd.

Initially, woolgrowers were the shareholders in AWS through holding "A" class and "B" class shares. "A" class shares gave rights in relation to AWI and "B" class shares give rights in relation to TWCH.

It was intended that within two years of the formation of AWS, AWI and TWCH will become separately owned. On the 30th April 2002 AWI demerged from the AWS group.

The AWS Board comprises commercially experienced directors and is accountable to its shareholders.
