What is AWIS?

The Australian Wool Industries Secretariat provides Executive Officer and Administrative support to key wool industry organisations. These include:

• Australian Council of Wool Exporters Inc. (ACWE)
• Private Treaty Wool Merchants of Australia Inc.(PTWMA)
• Australian Wool Processors Council Inc. (AWPC)

o        Wool Scourers & Carbonisers of Australia Group

o        Wool Textile Manufacturers of Australia Group

• Federation of Australian Wool Organisations (formerly theAustralian National Committee of the International Wool Textile Organisation).
• The Secretariat facilities are shared by:

o        The National Council of Wool Selling Brokers of Australia Ltd

o        Australian Superfine Wool Growers Association Inc.

The Secretariat produces a weekly Market Review which is published on its website and distributed via email and fax to major Rural Media outlets and to Members of the Associations.
