Testing precision and accuracy

The precision and accuracy of the various IWTO Specifications used by AWTA Ltd and other Test Houses is documented in the specifications themselves.

However, the concept of precision and accuracy is often not well understood. Understanding this concept is important because it is central to understanding the technical limitations of the various test methods.

AWTA Ltd provides a brochure entitled "Wool Trading Requirements & IWTO Test Methods" and, among other things, this provides a clear description of the concept of precision and accuracy. The "AWTA Ltd Wool Testing Handbook" is also a very useful reference source.
