Why should I test for colour?
Subjective appraisal of colour is generally done by making judgements on the scourability of the colour seen in a greasy sample. This is very unreliable, and results in many lots being unfairly discounted for containing colour that is actually scourable. Colour tests are done on core samples that have been scoured and carded in the laboratory. Therefore, the measurements truly reflect the base colour of the wool.
