What happened to electronic sales on AWTA Ltd's WOOLINK system?

The software to enable electronic wool sales (offer board, spot sale, grower report offer board, auction or tender) is available via WOOLINK. It is up to the users of WOOLINK to utilise the software if they wish.

The industry however has demonstrated a reluctance to move to an electronic selling system. AWEX developed an alternative system to WOOLINK and conducted a number of trials. Due to lack of interest and criticisms from wool buyers further development of this system ceased. WOOLINK is in a similar situation. 

Consequently, despite the availability of other web-based bid and offer systems developed by wool brokers, wool sold by electronic means still represents a very small proportion of the Australian clip.
