What is Fibre Curvature?
Curvature is related to crimp frequency. Fibres from highly crimped wool will exhibit more curvature in the fibre and therefore a higher measured curvature (expressed in degrees/mm).
Although instruments such as OFDA and LASERSCAN can report a curvature measurement these must be viewed with caution. There is no calibration system for fibre curvature, and sample preparation, as well as other factors can significantly alter the measured results.
