Background Information

Originally raised on a property near Mudgee in NSW, Angus graduated from the School of Wool and Pastoral Science with a B.Sc. degree from the University of NSW in 1981. AWTA Ltd employed him as a Research Officer in Sydney where he was involved in the TEAM project and in the development of staple sampling equipment.

In 1987, Angus was promoted to the position of Technical Manager - NSW, which he held for 10 years before being appointed Regional Manager - Qld.

Angus returned to Sydney in 1999, when he became Laboratory Operations Manager - NSW/Qld. He was responsible for the efficient processing of all samples through the Sydney Laboratory and the maintenance of technical standards. With the assistance of seven Controllers and Supervisors, Angus managed a staff of up to 160 Testing Officers. Productivity improvement and achieving AWTA Ltd's service time and technical commitments were key aspects of his role.

In February 2001 he was appointed as Senior Manager Sydney Laboratory and assumed responsibility for all laboratory and data processing operations. In February 2006, in addition to this role, Angus assumed responsibility for management of AWTA Ltd's Research & Deveopment Division.

In July 2008 Angus was appointed as Regional Manager - New South Wales & Queensland.

He reports to the General Manager Raw Wool.

Accountabilities

The Regional Manager - New South Wales & Queensland is accountable for coordinating and controlling Sydney laboratory operations to achieve the objectives of AWTA Ltd.

He is also accountable for directing and controlling the research, development and equipment manufacturing program within AWTA Ltd.
