Regional Offices & Laboratories
Management of Sampling, Testing and Certification services is organised on a regional basis. AWTA Ltd has 2 laboratories, located in Melbourne (Victoria) and Fremantle (Western Australia). The Melbourne laboratory services the Southern and Northern regions whilst the Fremantle laboratory services the Western region. To this extent the management is synchronous with the management of the auction selling system. Sampling Offices
Sampling Offices are maintained in major storage centres. In all cases these are former auction sale centres. AWTA Ltd employs a full time Sampling Controller in these centres to organise sampling services to clients with storage facilities in these centres. These Sampling Controllers report directly to the Sampling Operations Manager for the region within which their centre is located.
In the Northern Region sampling offices are maintained in Newcastle (New South Wales), Goulburn (New South Wales) and Brisbane (Queensland). In the Southern Region offices are located in Adelaide (SA), Geelong (Victoria), Portland (Victoria) and Launceston (Tasmania).
Regional Sampling Centres
In the Northern and Southern Regions wool storage locations also exist in a number of rural cities and towns. Generally the volumes of wool handled by clients based in these centres is insufficient to warrant the establishment of a permanent Sampling Office. Sampling services are supplied to these clients by employing locally based Sampling Officers on a fulltime or casual basis. These Officers can be called upon by the clients as and when required, provided 48 hours notice of intent is provided.
Textile & Product Testing
AWTA Ltd's Product Testing Division (formerly known as AWTA Textile Testing) is located in Kensington in Victoria.
The Division provides a wide range of testing services for the textile, building construction, automotive and other manufacturing and retail industries.
The Division also provides consultancy services to these industries and any other industries seeking advice and assistance within the specialties and competencies of the Division.
In addition it is a registered Research Agency for provision of research and testing services for which tax deductions can be claimed under the relevant Commonwealth Government statutes.
