Clause 4: Admissions to Membership
- The Authority may from time to time by resolution at a general meeting admit to membership of the Authority any person, corporation or organisation which has an interest in furthering the objects of the Authority.
- The name of any person, corporation or organisation admitted to membership in accordance with these Articles shall be entered in the Register of Members.
- Applications for membership of the Authority will be in writing, signed by the applicant, in a form approved by the Board in its absolute discretion.
- At the next meeting of the Board after the receipt of an application for membership, the application will be considered by the Board. The Board will:
- determine whether the application should be referred to the next general
meeting of the Authority for approval or rejection; or
- decide to call on the applicant to supply any evidence of eligibility that it
considers reasonably necessary.
- requires further evidence under article 4(d)(ii), determination of the
application under article 4(d)(i) will be deferred until this evidence has
been supplied;
- declines to refer an application for membership of the Authority for
determination at a general meeting, it will not be required to give reasons
for so declining.
- As soon as practicable following admission of a new member to membership, the Secretary will send the new member written notice of admission.
- Every member must nominate one person to represent the member in the Authority.
- Subject to these articles, the rights and privileges of every member will be personal to each member and will not be transferable by the member's own act or by operation of law.
